In order to purchase a MyPriority Short-term health plan,
the primary applicant and/or eligible dependents must meet these eligibility requirements.
A. Subscriber (primary applicant)
The subscriber (or primary applicant) must:
- Be a current resident of Michigan and have lived in the United States for six consecutive months before the application submission date
- Be between the ages of 18 and 64 & 11 months
- Not intend to travel to a destination where war, hostilities or insurrection exist or are imminent within the first six months of coverage
- Not be eligible for or enrolled in any governmental health insurance program including Medicare, Children's Special Health Care Services, CHIP (such as MIChild) and prescription drug coverage.
- Not be in detention; incarcerated in a facility such as a jail, prison or youth home; in the custody of any law enforcement officer; or on release for the sole purpose of receiving medical treatment
B. Eligible dependents
The subscriber's spouse or eligible dependents must meet these requirements:
- The subscriber (primary applicant) and the spouse are legally married and not older than age 64 1/2.
- The dependent child(ren) are between the ages of 15 days and 25 years as of the effective date of coverage.
- Spouse and/or dependent do not intend to travel to a destination where war, hostilities or insurrection exist or are imminent within the first six months of coverage.
- Spouse and/or dependent children are not eligible for or enrolled in any governmental health insurance program including Medicare, Children's Special Health Care Services, CHIP (such as MIChild) and prescription drug coverage.
